Making Telemedicine Permanent?!
Friday Jun 09, 2023
Friday Jun 09, 2023
A potentially bill being pushed is about having telemedicine here to stay. If this were to happen, what does this mean for PTAs? Would our jobs change? Can we work from home? We discuss possible options and the complications it would bring in today's episode!
FYI:
According to the APTA in the most recent article in 2019 Medicare Rules State:
General supervision is required for PTAs in all settings except private practice, which requires direct supervision
Private Practice: supervising PT is in the office suite when an individual procedure is performed and immediately available to furnish assistance and direction throughout the performance of the procedure.

Over our working experience we have been in a variety of settings (more Laura than ken) and they are all different. People thrive in different environments and what works for one person may not be what works for another. So let's discuss the good and the bad in each environment to better help you decide where you want to work!

Meet Your Hosts
Ken - is a licensed PTA in Nevada. He has recently graduated from college and is currently working in an out-patient setting. When he is not working he loves to play board/card games, snowboarding, anime, and hanging out with his family.
Laura - is also a licensed PTA in Nevada. She has been a licensed PTA for almost 5 years. She has also worked in the out-patient and in-patient setting. She brings a unique prospective as she has recently had an injury that has had her take a step back from being the treater to being the patient. When not working she enjoys crafting, hanging out with friends, and Vegas Golden Knights games (hockey).
